Stadium is an urban strategy and placemaking consultancy based in Cape Town, South Africa.

We believe that cities, companies and communities thrive when people connect in meaningful and memorable ways – and that is our mission. We create places that bring people together – physically, digitally and conceptually. We champion good design and pursue positive outcomes in everything we do.

We work with property developers and owners, hospitality groups, retail brands, built environment professionals and city improvement districts, alongside a portfolio of self-initiated projects.

Team

Stadium is led by Gareth Pearson. Gareth has had a life-long interest in how buildings and the spaces between them are inhabited and used in ways that enrich both day-to-day life and neighbourhood vitality. He combines his experience in cultural programming with his love for urban life to bring a unique perspective to the making of successful places.

Gareth is a co-founder of the city-changing initiative First Thursdays in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, and a graduate of the City Design and Social Science programme at the London School of Economics. Outside of Stadium, you’ll find him riding a bicycle, lost in a book shop, or exploring the Karoo.
